Interlude ... Linda's mele

Oh my it is Monday already ... soon to be Wednesday (Hump day) then the weekend yip yip yippee

Ok here goes
The Magnificent: Name someone you absolutely adore, and tell us why.
My mother. Coz she is my Mum. She was widowed at the age of 36 when my father suddenly died of a huge stroke aged 44. She worked so hard to bring us up in a very middle class environment and teach us manners and to be good kids. She did a great job because all 3 of us have achieved and live a good, full decent lives. Thank you Mum.

2. The Muddy: Tell us something about life you just don’t “get”.
I don't get how we allowed this 'fast life' to get a grip? Everything is NOW. No time to sit back and think, particularly at work. I used top send a letter and await the reply maybe a week or 2 later now it is the same day via e mail. If I am out of the office for more than a day I have about 50 emails waiting that need an instant reply!! This can't be right? Also I was not taught typing at school as I was in the academic stream but now I have to type my own letters !!

3. The Magnetic: Name something or someone good (or bad) you’re drawn to and you just can’t help it. Tell us if you want to change this or not.
I am drawn to the injustices around the world which I have no influence upon but contribute monetarily where I can. I have a lot and live in comfort where as others have nothing

4. The Mainstay: Who or what is something you just can’t live without? Why?

Mascara (way shallow after the last question)

5. The Masquerade: Tell us something about yourself we wouldn’t already know.
Don't do the silver bird bit but that doesn't stop me visiting folk abroad... just planning my train trip from the UK to Madrid

6. The Mettle: Tell us about a time you showed courage in yourself, or tell us what you wish you had the courage to do.
Mettle? There are loads!!

When I had my new kitchen fitted there were 2 handles missing. So off I trotted to the supplier to tell them. Was told 'It will be 6 weeks delivery' 'but my fitter is here now' 'I am sorry' he replied.
'but you have some on display on that cabinet there?'
'I can't take them off I am sorry!' he said
I noticed a few customers signing up for new kitchens near by so....in a loud voice!
'I am not leaving here without my door handles, I have my fitter at home and he nor I can wait 6 weeks, your after sale service is awful, if I would have known I would never have ordered my kitchen from you!!'
He said nothing, he reached down behind the desk and produced a cordless screwdriver and said 'come with me'
I got my handles lol

I was in the 'academic stream' at school too (such an archaic term) and was forced to study latin instead of typing. of course I spend all day speaking latin now and typing is just so passe.....

LOL on the mascara. I *so* wish I could wear mascara. They all run right and make me look like a raccoon. Even the waterproof stuff. Wish I could find one I could wear!

LOL on the handles, too. Sounds like exactly what Fraccy would do. You must be related!

Dear Anni Mouse
Yes I remember you doing typing and was not at all envious then because Miss was a dragon... however I am now as my index fingers are now stumps
