Got up at 9.15 Stayed off college cos of a cold (sounds like a 'duvet day' to me ... although it would have been 'woolly blanket and flannelet sheet day' then, mmm? just doesn't have the same ring to it somehow?)
Sam phoned at 1.30
I also got a letter off him and I wrote back
Fi phoned after college
Sam phoned again in the evening
He was really chatty as his parents were out (it was a time when you had one phone in the house, usually situated in the lounge and cordless phones were a thing of dreams!!)
So what would you invent? In the 70s yes I would have desired some privacy as in a cordless phone!
But I am voting now for Fran Lane, Bristol & Sue Burton, Birmingham
but above all Belen Lewis, Wilts who said
'I'm hopeless at spelling so I'd rather like to invent something like a spelling calculator; for instance, you would say a word like Unitarian into a microphone and the machine would spell it out for you.'

Mmmmm... duvet days.
Aren't they such the best of days lol
:-)
I fondly remember my rotary phone with the spirally cord (we called them "Barney Miller phones"). I can't believe how many hours I spent tied to it, cordless would have been a nightmare for my parents!
flannelette sheets? oh now i feel really nostalgic. they felt wonderful in a nz winter.
hope Wendy Tailor has finally cut her troublesome waist length hair...
I agree with you about the spelling calculator.... I need it badly! Thank Goodness for spell check here...
Loved your post today, but then I love them everyday, always...

duvet day is like almost every day, every morning for me.. *giggles*
its so nice, curling on bed all day all nite... sigh. :) (its a happy sigh).
tNb~ I was certainly on the phone an awful lot as a teen and still love a great natter on the phone to mates.
What has just occurred to me is that my teen doesn't use the phone... she communicates by msn & text..... I tell you though she can type so fast
Yep NM Wendy had missed the easy opyion of having cut ,..... but she could have used Batiste dry shampoo (awful stuff!!)
Sugar ~ as you will know I am always getting done by the spelling squad on blog :-)
B4by ~ how did we survive with out a comfy duvet... mind you, you probably have only ever known duvets!!!! :-)
Batiste Dry Shampoo! I remember that!
think I actually liked the smell of it too. I remember going home to nz on a visit and feeling really chuffed with myself because I had this groovy Batiste that no one else had heard of.
