20th February 1979

Tuesday 20
Tony R's 18th
Spoke to Tony R on the train this morning
Ordinary day at college

Sam phoned

Love him

David Essex is on in co
ncert 16th March
Would like to go Tickets cost £1.50, £2.50 & £3.50 (I wish concert tickets were as cheap as that now the last lot for Take That cost me £100 for the pair)

You may or not realise that in 1979 I was studying my A'levels (exams you
do in the UK aged 16- 18). I had chosen Sociology, Food and Nutrition & Business Studies as I really wanted to get into Hotel & Catering as a career....... I wonder if this 'patronizing' article encouraged me to change my mind later

That certainly rules me out lol

Obviously in the days before 'Hell's Kitchen'

Quite like this bit of the training though

The advantages of having time off while others are working, and usually being paid extra for this inconvenience?!? Shoot, I might have been the ideal waitress ...
