Worked 10.00 - 6.15 = wet (I am now back in the Outdoor cafe... it was a wonder we didn't close up as it was wet)
Phoned him at 12.30
He didn't get in until 4.30 am this morning (no wonder he didn't ring the night before!)
Rang him at 7.45
Went babysitting at 8.00 pm
He rang me at midnight but I wasn't back from babysitting (bet Mum was pleased ... not!)
Phoned him when I got home but the phone was engaged
Sunday 24th
Supposed to work but was rained off (I guess they made no money yesterday) Stayed in all day
Made a pencil skirt out of the same material as Sam's jacket (so easy to make. 70s top tip never try climbing onto a bus with one on) Sam phoned
He went to Donnington Park to Formula one racing this afternoon
Phoned Fi at 10.00 she had just got in.
Well Wimbledon fortnight has started and yes it is raining... well it is up North.
I was lucky enough to go to the event in 1977. I have posted about it on here when I did a whistle stop tour of 1977 from memory and my scrapbook as I couldn't find my diary of then... but I have found it now

Wimbledon Trip

12 hours on a coach (see back pages of diary)

We spent 12 hours on the coach
It was very boring on the way there
On the way back SP came to sit next to me on the coach
We talked for a couple of hours & then he started to get randy (OMG!!)
He tried to get his hand up my skirt
I managed to fight him off (good girl)
Bev & Jane got DS's trousers off (OMG!!)
It's funny I don't fancy SP but I feel strangely attracted to him (OMG all those hormones!!)
Both Bev & Jane fancy DS (there will be tears I can just tell)
Anyway moving swiftly on lol

In 1979 the brochure looked pretty boring
Björn Borg won the mens singles beating Roscoe Tanner 6-7(4), 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4
& Martina Navrátilová won the ladies singles beating Chris Evert 6-4, 6-4 (gosh that was over quickly!!)

My mind is boggling about what the censored bit said ...... probably something about trying to sharpen your pencil skirt using a ..... oh well, I suppose we'll never know ....
Oh dear, sorry you are having horrible weather, it's not too bad 'darn Sarf'although all that looks set to change as soon as I get to Wimbledon and then Glastonbury - double whammy! My son is doing a sun dance to try and get us nice weather but I'm not holding my breath!
Anyway, one things for sure, we won't have as much fun on the journey there and back as you seemed to have had! :-)
