16th June 1979

Saturday 16
Got up at 12.00 (OMG I wish for such a lie in these days!!)
Went to Stafford

Bought a pair of pegs (draineys, drain pipes, peg leg)= £11.99 & Boogie Wonderland 12"single E.W.&F.
& a P.I.Ltd bag for Sam (what they had 'man bags' back then???)
Went to the Woolpack & the Holly Bush

Had a Pimms = nice (I have never even tasted a Pimms since... I must have been so sophisicated then.. ok I probably just thought I was!!)
Came back from the pub at 11.30

Well the birthday is over now... all the pressies & cards have been opened. I bought her a Radley keyring (because she is always mislaying her keys but figured if it had a Radley dog attached she may take more care!! How cute is that?)

Also there were a few other little opening presents... but tonight her 'boyfriend' gave her a Paul's Boutique handbag ... I shudder to think what it cost.

So on this day 29 years ago I bought this and it still sounds as good :-)

belated birthday wishes to the teen in 70teen's ;) Pimmmmms! I love that!
Question: have you been clubbing with your daughter yet or is it something that just does not happen?

B4by~ just swan into a bar and ask for a Pimms on the rocks .... hey you will love it :)

Oh Rev~ surely Pimms are over there ... you could order one and feel as sophisticated as me lol :-)

[just off to read you post ;-) ]

Oh Sylvie you will learn as the teens get older 'we' are not cool.
I was shocked when it first happened then I remember how I was with my mum!..... so as you can imagine 'clubbing' together is a 'no, no'. Gone are the days when Mum drew the best, sang the best and danced the best... breathing today is about all I can do... but at least I think it is funny!
[I do clubbing when she isn't looking lol ;-) ]

Pimms, lemonade, ice and a slice? How dull, I wouldn't let them make me a Pimms! I want fruit! And mint leaves and maraschino cherries and a BIG glass....

Diane ~ you know your description has 'wetted my whistle' to go and hunt out a cool fruity Pimms ....
