8th July 1979

Sunday 8
Went to Donnington Park
Watched the bikes = ok but a bit boring (I do remember this, they whizzed round so fast and were sooo noisy!!)

= very hot (the weather I gues
s?... I wish!!! it is terribly miserable and rainy here 29 years later)
Got back at 7.45

Went to the Saracen's Head (pub) with Sam, Dave and Steve

Here 'til 1.30 (ooo a stay behind after hours....an
age before 24 hour pub opening so it was illegal then ooo)
Bed at 2.00

Ok the knitting pattern!! How interesting can a light bulb be?? Maybe my more masculine readers could tell me? Perhaps he is thinking 'I wonder how many of my mates I will have to invite round to change it??' or 'I feel so inadequate!'

Great for a caption contest lol .....

Breaking away from a 70s theme
(which is generally only done during the month of December)
So not so idle hands ... how cool & clever are these??

That bra is very snappy .....

I did done see those hand thingies ages ago *preens and looks cocky* ..... they's brilliant.

I thought 'lock ins' at pubs were just about legal - as it came under private club legislation [sort of] but I suppose you would know being all clever at that sort of thing an' all ......

Hey DP you are being pretty snappy at this late hour ;-)

Oh ok so you have the t-shirt on the hands... but they are so groovy second time around (they came from Canada.. it does take a while for things to travel around the world back to me you know?)

Lock ins/after hours weren't .. I think the private club legislation was pushing the boundaries a bit

p.s. hey I was 16 then so that was illegal lol

Freaky hands!

And the giant light bulb!?! And he's looking so lovingly at it too, LOL

It's like...all my big ideas are in there ... somewhere ...

I remember buying my first drink in a pub at the tender age of 15 - I was shaking like a leaf.

Like it DM lol
It's a great thoughtful photo :-)

wow DP you have a great memory hee hee

It is strange it hasn't even passed my teens mind to even try the pub... she doesn't like alcohol (she is far better behaved than me shusssssh)

She's probably too busy ...... oh never mind

I love the little finger-weightlifter! Quite clever.

The Rev. has returned from his beach vacation! A little bit tanner and (sadly) a little bit heavier.

Hopefully I didn't miss any quizzes while I was out of the internet's grasp...

DP ~ You know she is busy studying ... OMG how alien... she got an A in higher science today ... scary lol

HI Rev WB to blogsphere :-)
Yes what a finger light touch lol

tanned ... how lucky ... slightly heavier... shouldn't worry you will be back on your bike again

No, I have not done any quizzes mainly coz I have been too busy with exams and you, b4by and Nurse Myra (the quiz trio) have been on holiday ... will post one soon :-)

I eagerly await! In the meantime, I vow to master that drunken walker game...

The bikes (BOTH) have flats at the moment. What luck!

Oh! this post is so nostalgic. Me and my friends used to do all these hand arts while at school. Especially the peacock one, I remember I convinced my mom to buy me artificial nails because at school we couldn't grow our nails. Me and my friends were quite not happy with the the small beak lol. The others were deer, dog, and the athletes. We used to hold races amongst us. Aww!!

Those hands are amazing! Oh what imagination can do! Love the soccer ones - gorgeous!

OH no Rev a double flat that is not good lol

I am sooo rubbish at the drunkard game .. I end up shouting at him 'STAND UP!!!' :-)

Wow SB I am so impressed. Did you really paint your hands like that how brilliant :-) ... we used to just draw on our hands in biro. Still do that today when I need to remember something.

Hi SP :-) Aren't they just so exquisite. The football (soccer) ones are so very clever. The weightlifter makes me smile, its the look on his face :-)

70s, these hands are done dexterously. Yes, we used to paint our hands with acrylic colors (because of the shine) but we used to make more of mess than do the perfect thing.lol. We were teens then. I'll show this post to my friends, I am sure they would have the same feelings.:)
