10th July 1979

Tuesday 10
Got up at 10.00
Went into Stafford

Had a great laugh shopping

Went to the Woolpack & the Holly Bush (pubs) with Steve and Sally
Sam's next door neighbour came round

Bed at 4.15am

It was light

Blotto = disgusting (all I can think is that his parents must have been away whilst all this was going on!)

With regard to the knitting pattern all I can think of was they were promoting how to have a happy relationship, by buying a penny farthing bike, wearing a tea towel on your head and knitting (& wearing) matching mustard coloured sweaters..... easy peasy :-)

Time for some 70s advertisements

C1975 ... would you wear that trouser suit?? The sleeveless number is not bad? though

Can the same be said for the wearers in the 70s ??

As we say over here 'they should have gone to Spec Savers'

Those pants are so tight do you reckon he may have had an accident on that bike??

I posted a while ago that I had bought a pair of white clogs... it is these here at the top of the picture .. so comfortable :-)

erm yes he does need something and I wonder if the fragrance smelled of stale ciggies and morning after beer lol

Oh O.J.! I wonder if he was true to the advert and wearing these when??

More mustard!!! - good grief woman - what are you trying to do to me? What about a nice white pullover suitable for a game of cricket? Surely not all your pattern books are illustrated in MUSTARD [or musturd as my building boss used to call it - tee hee]

Okay, I had those clogs too! Memories. I loved them.

Now, it's been my experience that mustard coloured swearters are a must for a happy relationship.

And the velour sportshirt ... I know people who still wear those .. and I gotta say, I like them! :D

Finally (this is a full post you have here!) OJ has 3 legs? Is that a mis-print or was that the point? Nasty.

am I getting the innuendo right? OJ is so well hung he needs an extra boot for his schlong?

What there are still people out there wearing velour shirts? Do they wear the jaunty polo neck with it too lol

DM & NM ~ I have no idea about the 3 legs or the big 'schlong' the only other other 3 legged man I know of is 'Jake the Peg... with his extra leg'

This ad was certainly before his 'run away from the police incident'!!

I have always wondered how have people managed to wear such tight pants. In the old pictures of my mom-dad, they have worm similar pants (they are 70s teen so.... )I even asked my mom whether they were never worried that their pants might tear away and with the most unpleasant noise. Lol. She said that they were used to it and thethe pants were just well fitted. I wonder! :p

SB ~ I think back then there were more synthetic materials about .... nylon, crimpolene etc ... very unpleasant cloth but very stretchy ... thank goodness lol :-)
