I hope you are all having a lovely Yuletide and Santa was good to you.
He was extremely kind to me and I recieved some beautiful gifts .. thank you everyone ... the down side though is a lot of the pressies are chocolates.. there are Thorntons, Cadbury's Roses, Match Makers, Ferrero Rochers etc etc ... as much as I love them I already feel like the side of a house after over indulging on Xmas fayre............... hey ho!!

My teen bought me Enrique Iglesias Greatest Hits so I have been boogying around the kitchen ... but something else that made me boogy was the compilation of my favourite songs on one CD, which she made for me ..... it was such a considerate, well thought out gift.
I had wondered why she has asked me a couple of weeks ago what my top 5 songs were ????

So if you were asked that question what would you choose???

I chose
Chasing Cars ~ Snow Patrol (can't play this when the dog is here...it is also my mobile ringtone and she associates it with going out to pick up teen... so a bit chaotic, mad barking and bouncing dog.... lol)
Don't want to miss a thing ~ AeroSmith
Sweet Child of Mine ~ Guns 'n' Roses
Hero ~ Enrique Iglesias
Smooth ~ Santana

I can only agree with Snow Patrol. My top 5 would have to include
"I Want You" by Elvis Costello
"Sweet Surrender" by Tim Buckley and something by Radiohead, Nick Cave and an early Van Morrison

I think I'd have to have David Bowie, Nina Simone, Joan Armatrading, Lily Allen and the Stones........ dammit, Cliff Richard didn't make the list - tee hee

Joan Armatrading? Oh pish DP... didn't you know sometimes when you're hard at 'work' in that back office, I can actually hear Abba's 'Fernando' or The Bay City Rollers' 'Saturday Night' wafting up towards the secretary's office?

Goodness. The things a secretary knows about her boss...

Honestly though 70s, I don't know what songs I'd pick. I have such wildly different types of music on my list and play them all depending on my mood, etc. if there's lots of traffic or not (some music just isn't good for paying attention to the road...)

That was a lovely idea from your dd though. I made one of those for my mom some time back. I found all her old songs I remembered her listening to when I was a young girl, and put them on one CD for her.

oh NM ~ yes Elvis Costello (love EC.. went to a private party of his in the 80s following a gig..)
Van Morrison ... love his stuff

yes a top 5 isn't enough

DP ~ absolutely Bowie (teen refused to put him on the CD as 'he looks weird' lol) .. Golden Years/ Young Americans/ Life on Mars ...
Lets just say that Sir Cliff is not in my top 1 million hits hee hee (I don't think Annie Mouse is watching;-) )

hee hee Dear Frac he secret plays BCR and Abba I should have guessed that he looks the type .. lol

I know music top 5's are an in the moment thing ... some were favs at a time and some are favs forever .. music just reminds you of so many different things in that have happened in our lives

I bet your mum was thrilled (as I was) with the music compilation you did her (mmm I may do that for my mum for her birthday ) x
