In 1977 it was the Queens Silver Jubilee and there was such a feel good factor in the air.

but I can't resist posting this piccie of my dear granny again taken in the nusing home (I am so pleased I have a blog and have posted what I have because when my old boy computer died it took with it loads of my most precious pictures, fortunately I still have some on hard copy and others on here or on Flickr)
Well I had a bit of a blonde evening this evening. Got home from work then trolled back into Manchester to go and see Young@heart at the Manchester International Festival. I had seen an email this morning and it said they were on tomorrow .... I thought the email came yesterday ... alas no the email was from Saturday......doh!!!

Now to the important stuff - what were yours legs doing on News at 10? Had they been misbehaving? Were they the 'most wanted'? Come on, spill the beans .......

great video, he's an interesting artist and not one whose work I am familiar with. I was surprised that the trees were real, Stephen's trees were cast in fibreglass but looked real, even the most well known piece with the knot tied in the trunk - people still thought it was growing out of the ground like that

DP ~ yes I wonder, when they go home to their families and tell them what they did that day' well I planted some huge trees upside down in concrete...just an ordinary day!'

NM ~ I had not come across him before either. It was quite amusing as when I originally walked past the piece I just noticed loads of soil on the floor... 'mm I wonder where that came from?' & then looked up 'oh!!'
Love Stephen's fibreglass tree it does look real... great to be reminded of his work x :-)

GW ~ thanks for the tip/link. Unfortunately they are lost on a knackered hard drive. My brother is trying to retrieve the data but it is not looking good though... may have to fok out good money and get a professional to rip the stuff out ;(

The trees remind me of the ones in the Wizard of Oz... when they came to life and all. The upside down roots gives them an 'alive' quality.
So is there a clip anywhere of your legs on News at Ten?

Dear Frac they are great trees ... noticed though as the week has gone on they have lost bits of branches.... obviously the less educated think it is a climbing frame hey ho ... maybe that is what the artist expected??
I have looked for my legs but can't find them...
& thank you she was a feisty lady but adorable x
