7th July

Wednesday 7th July 1977

7.7.77
Went to the fairground
Was with Phil, Paul, Mark, Baldy (aww poor chap), Toddy, Fi, Lou, Debs , Jyte & Inger
(The German exchange was in town. I so remember Jyte (Kruger)... she was very loud, very flirty and wore the tightest of jeans I had ever seen. She taught me how to get in such tight jeans.. lie in the bed, thread a cord through the zip end ... beathe in (you couldn't breathe afterwards) and pull.... my it worked a treat back then)
************************************

7-7-77....this year we will have a 09-09-09.... ok small things amuse small minds lol

I wondered if anything exciting happened that day apart from me going to the fairground....

Apparently Felix Vasquez an American Municipal employee was born. Who? Yes I thought that too..... in 2005 he caught a 3 week old baby that was thrown out of a burning building from the 3rd floor .. wtg Felix.

I couldn't find anything else significant ...

So here is Top of the Pops that day ... The Jackson 5 were number 2 in the UK charts. (just watched MJs memorial thing... some very touching tributes indeed but just couldn't get my thoughts away from how his 2 sons and his dad chewed pink bubble gum all the way through it!!!! Is it a British thing and respect that you would not chew gum openly at a funeral/memorial??)

Just had a text from Annie Mouse (spooky as I mentioned weird dates in this post) ... because this year we will have a time that is 12:34:56 7/8/9......

I didn't watch the memorial but I did see his daughter speak briefly on the news. so they chewed gum throughout? Unbelievable

Comfort chewing probably ..... I didn't watch as I gathered it was all a bit kitsch ...... I dislike sentimentality ..... dammit I'm British when all is said and done ....

Like the number 'thangs' ... particularly Annie's .........

NM ~ they did and so obviously too!!

Possibly DP but with millions of folk watching it was bad taste!!

It was a bit twee at times but it had to be watched

Oh my. Did anything go haywire or stop completely? {{Please don't count DP... when I looked up 'haywire' at wikipedia, his photo was there... lol}}

dear Frac .... I should have put a disclaimer in there ... the date is UK way around so it will happen on 7th August ;)

I love the numbers things too - don't know why, dates are just random numbers after all but I do enjoy the symmetry of these dates!

Didn't watch the MJ thing either. He was only a pop star for goodness sake - and with a very dodgy personal life at that. I expect the rehabilitation of MJ is underway as we speak - until the first memoir from someone cashing in is published.
I think he had a very disturbed and sad life, let the man rest in peace.

I'm with Diane MJ-comment-wise, plus of course I don't have a TV, so didn't even know there WAS a memorial prog (but of course there would be)............

Try radio! Desert Island Discs has Harvey Goldsmith 2moro.

Excellent post as usual, love the date thing.

On 01:23:45 6/7/89 my girlfriend of the time shouted, "YES,YES,YESSSS!!!!" Can't remember why.............Maybe it was a dream?

I didn't see the memorial in the end - I think me and Mum were watching something else - then again it might be the evening we went out for tea - My brain has gone a bit mushy this week I think I need a lie down to be able to get through the rest of it!

Diane the dates are awesome aren't they! My elderly mother has it (due to what happens when you get elderly your world reduces to what the press says) that there will be a disaster on 09/09/09... I however figure it is a magical day
On the MJ thing.. he had such a f'd up life .. some can handle the fame others can't .. he was in the 'can't' category .. I have loved his music over the years but can not ever 'ID' what his personal life lead him .... yes him rest in peace

GW ~ you know you can catch up on you Tube !!... mmm so you have been tagged as a 1-10 in so many minutes... you must be a DB8? ;-)

Hannah ~ Mush is good ... let me join you .. arrr

I've been called lots of things, but don't think anyone named me after a car, certainly nothing as fast as a DB8 (wasn't that a James Bond car?)

I quite like this one though:

Linus Torvalds has quipped about the name "git", which is British English slang for a stupid or unpleasant person:[2] "I'm an egotistical b******, and I name all my projects after myself. First Linux, now git." This self-deprecating humor is tongue-in-cheek, as Torvalds was actually pressured into naming Linux after himself (see History of Linux).

The official Git wiki also gives a number of alternative explanations for the name, including "Global Information Tracker".[3]

GW ~ it was James Bond car that was 0 to whatever in whatever very quickly (it is my stock retort when I get cut up by a fast car that you must be 0 - ? very, very quickly or yelling PE... or small widgey, whilst waggling my little finger... lol)

The latter 'git' explanation is a bit worrying along with how late I am up have you seen the time????

I'm a bit busy at the mo looking up stuff on 'the female psyche' on Wiki, DP turned me on to it, still can't understand them though, i'm sure they're from another planet..................PE?...small widgey?.....think I remember doing a bit of waggling.........
