Holiday interlude 6 ~Madrid

Hi
Just a quick post from a beautiful Madrid. (& just checking my drawers!!)

I so love it here, the culture, the life style (sleeping in the afternoon is so civilised) the architecture.

I have become a photographing lunatic since I arrived. Unfortunately can't down load any until I get home...... so I have just nicked some of the interweave.

My friend who I am staying with has unfortunately had to work this week... when I say work she is on summer hours so finishes at noon (ish)..... so I have been left to my own devices. A Brit abroad who for some unknown reason can only think of words in French and any Spanish I once knew seems to have been left in Manchester.
Anyway I can point and smile sweetly so, so far so good (apart from being ejected from a cafe in the Caixaforum.... I had the audacity to eat my sandwich, which I had bought in there, in the dining area.... doh!!!! oh silly me !! lol).

It is great to mooch around on your own & I certain must have that 'don't even bother trying to sell me anything, ask me for money etc'..... as I have had no hassle at all.
Sat drinking coffee and people watching at Plaza Mayor this morning after shopping in 'Sol'... bliss

Tonight is La Latina festival of La Paloma so I must go and get showered and off for tapas before hand.......... I am staying just down the road from Puerta de Toledo which just a trot away (or should I say staggering distance) from La Latina

I was in Italy recently. I found it weird that people slept at noon. Especially when it was a grocery store ...
