Day 3 of Advent and I have been Christmas shopping with Teen in Manchester this afternoon... the weather was rubbish [freezing cold, wet and windy]. The plus side was that I managed to grab a Gluwein at the Christmas Market in St Anns Square. It is fabulous ... I must take my camera down there soon.

Ok for today's calendar
This makes a change from 'stone cladding'... as it is 'cork cladding'... yes a house that is clad in cork.. not any old cork but wine corks. I bet it is way warm in there [note to self .... maybe I should keep the corks from the occasional wine bottles that still have them. It seems to be screw top or plastic corkage these days]
Now this DID impress me. I am pretty good at drawing circles free hand but this chap certainly is The Master . I think I may practise this weekend and I could be world champion!!!!!
I love the 'Drench' game and I am thinking this may take over from 'Drench.... the one today is easy and odd at the same time. I got up to level 10 [CKX at the time of posting was up to level 15].... just do as it says in the instructions.
I am loving this dog .... my dog before the current dog would have certainly had a go at the toothpaste tube ... he ate soap so this would have been a real treat for him
and the rib tickler today is .....
Q: What do you call a Mexican who has just
recovered from Swine Flu?
A: Manuel.

That's a lot of corks - quite a good excuse I suppose! I'm very suspicious of that 'perfect circle' drawing video [and quite a few of the associated videos - the quality is very bad and then, suddenly, the circle appears] .......
Glad to see that the joke is as groan worthy as ever .......
One could take such a house and float it wherever they wanted on the sea.
Very glad to see the canine taking care of his teeth. Least I know my dentures are safe from becoming chew toys. (giggle snort)
DP ~ yes there is always a good excuse .
I am a bit suspicious of the circle video too but it is impressive ;-)
JC @ great point with global warming it is the best thing ever save us ...unfortunately I am struggling to remember the last time I had to 'cork' a bottle of wine
lol no dentichews needed for that pup!! [my pup does have a penchant for chewing gum though]
See... like I said in the last comment, I'm daft. All this time I've been saving the bottles and not the corks!
Love the market though... rubbish weather or not, it looks like everything one imagines they should shop at for their Christmas gifts.
I would enjoy it. Did you?
hee hee Dear Frac ~ why do you save the bottles??
The Christmas market is wonderful... it puts a bit of magic into Christmas for adults ......it makes such a lovely change from the same old/ same old shops that are on every High Street in the UK ... what is even better the market is only 5 minutes from my office so I can soak up the Christmas spirit everyday at lunch time
love the cork house
Poo. My comment hasn't appeared. It was a long one too. I told you a Swine Flu joke and mentioned something about the cork house (how much wine did they have to drink?) and asked about the Christmas market (is a German one?) but the moment has passed, I shall go read something more recent :)
NM ~ it is pretty cool ... I wonder what my neighbours would say if I tried that lol ;-)
Diane ~ oh no .. Frac had the same problem I wonder what is a foot??
Yes you would have to be completely pickled 24/7 to drink all that wine .. I have collected a few corks over the years to maybe use in future art projects but they are hard to come by these days.
The market is a collection of all European countries.. From the Gluwein stalls to UK photographers .. it is a great mix of stuff.. I even bought the warmest knitted in the world that is lined with fleece made in Nepal http://www.priyatrading.co.uk/acatalog/Nepalese_Fleece_Lined_Jumpers.html#a32
I guess the company is European even though the products aren't...
